Lie-chan

Lie-chan is the second tower that I've built and is probably the only machine that I've spent quite a length of time naming. Well, it was more that she didn't "feel" like any character I knew until I named her. Lieselotte Achenbach is Lie-chan's full name, after Lieselotte Achenbach from Arcana Heart, but it's easier for me to refer to her with the shortened form of "Lie-chan"; in the English manual for the game, her "quote" is "Leave me alone or die.", and Lie-chan had a similar "feel" (mainly the "being alone" part). Lie-chan is also the first AMD tower I built.

Lie-chan was originally built (in 2008) with an AMD Athlon 64 x2 6400+ BE, 4GB DDR2 800 RAM, and an ATI Radeon X1650 Pro. The graphics card was upgraded to an AMD HD 6450 in early 2014.

I built Lie-chan with an ASUS Triton 77 cooler, and had the fan blow the hot air away from the CPU, and there was another fan on the case that sucked the air out. It worked well, but was just slightly weird in my opinion. The cooler was eventually replaced with a Zalman CNPS9700 in 2012.

Lie-chan was my work-horse computer for a while, until she got a low score in the Phantasy Star Online 2 benchmark inside the character creator, and so I retired her from the work-horse position once Melty was built.

Lie-chan is now a large HTPC for my entertainment centre, although I hardly use her much.
