Mei-chan is the third computer I've built - at the beginning of Q4 of 2011. Although Mei-chan's name is actually Mei Ren, it's a lot easier for me to refer to her as "Mei-chan". Mei-chan is named after Mei Ren from the Dance in the Vampire Bund anime, and this is because of my initial struggle with the Raidmax Thunder case; more specifically, Mei Ren (character) gives off the vibe that she's unloved, and it was hard to pour my usual "love" into Mei-chan because of the crappy case.
Mei-chan was built around the 8GB of DDR2 800 RAM that originally was supposed to be an upgrade for Lie-chan, but because it made Windows BSOD on Lie-chan, it wasn't a viable upgrade.
Mei-chan was built with an AMD Phenom II x2 555 BE, AMD Radeon HD 6770, and the aforementioned 8GB of DDR2 800 RAM. After unlocking the extra cores on the Phenom II and putting my RAM into "compatibility mode", Mei-chan's CPU displays as an AMD Phenom II x4 B55 BE and the RAM's speed is DDR2 400. Mei-chan was also transferred to the Cooler Master Elite 335U case.
Mei-chan was the first computer that I experimented with an nVidia GPU (namely the GTS 450), but I was unable to figure out how to dual-screen in openSUSE, so I RMA'd it for the Radeon HD 6770.
Mei-chan is my bedroom computer, isn't used very much (if at all) during the summer, and only has openSUSE installed as the OS.
