Melty

Melty is the fourth computer I've built and is named after Melty Do Granite from Shining Hearts. When I was naming Melty,I came up with a list of nine candidates (Momono Shiori from 11eyes−罪と罰と贖いの少女−, Hyoudou Kaname from Corona the Dragon Maiden, Takano Kotoko from Bokura wa Piacere!, Byakudan Midori from Kanojo x Kanojo x Kanojo Dokidoki Pack!, Kanou Mizuho from Strawberry Panic!, Sora Von Himmelblru from Angeraze 2, Kuroyukihime from Accel World, and Kohaku from Reaper's Kiss is the Taste of Parting are the other 8), reducing it down to Melty, Kuroyukihime, and Kohaku by myself, then letting Melty choose herself by generating sets of random numbers. I really wanted to use the UTAUloid Yokune Ruko, but after some research, I found that Ruko is actually a hermaphrodite and that didn't feel like it would fit well; I wanted Ruko because of her (?) red and blue heterochromatic eyes (since the HIS Radeon HD 6770 had a blue shell and the Zalman CNPS9900 Max has a red LED).

Melty was built with an AMD FX 8120, 16GB of DDR3 1600 RAM, and a Radeon HD 6770; the 8120 was later upgraded to an 8320, and a PCIe Sound Blaster sound card was added later.

The fan for the Radeon 6770 died late 2013, and I used Vantec's Spectrum Fan Card underneath the 6770 after removing the plastic shroud from the 6770's heatsink. I also later modded the fan card to have red LEDs instead of the stock blue.

The added sound card initially gave me trouble, but I eventually figured out the problem, and rectified it; later making a better and more permanent solution.

Melty definitely showed her "tsundere" side with openSUSE 12.2 (she had been cooperative and without problems until then).

Melty is also my current work-horse computer, being the one that's able to do any CPU-intensive task.
